FACT:  Did  you know that your odds of having a C-Section delivery are 1 in 3?   Kind of scary isn’t it? 

But the real tragedy is that many c-section deliveries catch women unprepared and off guard.

What’s more is that the odds of having a C-Section delivery have even increased slightly over the past 13-15 years.

An article headline on MSNBC.com called the C-Section rate an “Epidemic” stating that the C-section rate was up to 40% in Ecuador and Vietnam,  at 42% in China and at a whopping 50% in China.

conceIf you’re trying to conceive, don’t use lubricants.

In a  1998 study done by  the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, The Queen’s University of Belfast, Institute of Clinical Science concluded that:

“Hence, even at these very low concentrations, coital lubricants impair sperm motility and thus may adversely affect fertility.”

The In Vitro study, which means the study was conducted in a lab petri dish, not on humans, included several types of lubricants such as: saliva, olive oil, KY jelly, and baby oil.

If you’ve made the excellent choice to breastfeed, congratulations!   Now it’s time to choose a healthy pregnancy diet that will help ensure you experience optimal breastfeeding. 

Finding the right diet will help make sure your body has all it needs to give your baby all she needs and help breastfeeding go smoother after delivery.

In order for you to nurse your baby, your body has to produce anywhere from 23 to 27 ounces of milk a day. To sustain good milk production you’ll need to increase your calorie intake by about 500 more calories a day up to 2,500 and 2,800 if you intend to breastfeed beyond three months.
